Swinton Museum

Swinton & Kilnhurst ‘Mini Museum’ set to open.

Some of the rich heritage of Swinton & Kilnhurst is due to go on display at Swinton
library with the creation of a ‘mini museum’. Surplus display cases from Clifton Park
Museum have been made available to house the displays along with an oak cabinet
belonging to Swinton Heritage. The cases were delivered free of charge by local
company Providence who are contactors to Mears. Museum staff & local historians
are due to firstly install a WW1 display, along with school project work, opening in
September. Future displays could include archaeology, industry & social history.
